Any good way to return shoes I bought, wore, and found don't fit right?

Well, I tried them on in the store and all seemed fine. But, a day later, I felt that they were too small.

Any ideas what to do? I was thinking of making them faulty and telling them they sold me broken shoes.

Just return them, you'll be fine. There usually is a 30-day return policy and a few scratches on the shoe from 1-day wear won't hurt.

Return policy says unworn merchandice only, and to please make sure you try them in the store before you wear them outside.

Maybe a toothbrush and some Oxiclean will get them looking like new again..

What is your return and exchange policy?
DSW will gladly accept unworn merchandise for refunds or exchanges within 30 days of purchase. Merchandise must be in its original box and accompanied with a sales receipt and proper identification. Cash refunds on check purchases cannot be given within 7 days of purchase. Management discretion may be used to accept or deny any refund. Worn merchandise is not returnable, please make sure your shoes fit correctly prior to wearing them outdoors.

ala their website.

if you tell them you wore the shoes, they may not take them back.

How much wear did u put on them in a day? The easiest reply would be just to not say that you wore them....but in my experience, the main thing that they check for aside from big obvious scuffs on the sides of the shoe is the soles. I remember once that i had a pair of shoes that after i bought, i realized they didnt fit right, but i was in a rush one day, so i just tried to walk on mostly grass and stuff like that....and sure enough, when i returned them, that was the only thing they checked. So make sure they look as decent as possible, and try to take em back.

You could also try buying the same pair of shoes from a more lenient store (store B), return your old shoes to store B, then return your new shoes to store A.

I bought a cheap pair of shoes from Walmart last summer for working on some roofing. The hurt my feet bad. At the end of the day, the circulation in my big toe would be completely shut off and I wouldn't be able to feel the toe at all. I wore them for a month (because I was so busy) and then returned them. They looked pretty grubby, but they just smiled and gave me my money back. I was very happy. I then went to Kohls and bought some better shoes.

How about this...

I take a toothbrush, make a batch of super cleaner with some Oxiclean, an scrub the hell out of them.

Might work... the dirty really isnt too bad on them yet..
