i'm looking for a tabbed word processor. the key thing is i want to open one file that will have tabs within it, just like happens with excel.

i've come across a few programs here and there tabs, but they mostly open multiple files at the same to create the tabs.

yes.

but to make sure it's clear, my goal is to only open 1 file on the hard drive and then have mulitple tabs available (each tab would be like a regular full document). just like with excel you open one file and can have any number of tabs available that you want.

i have found many frontend type tabbing programs that basically just groups multiple files under one program to make tabs. so to have 5 tabs available you open 5 files off your hard drive. i do not want that.

the closest thing i've found is this:

which does what i'm talking about, but the problem is that it's a very limited word processor.

notepad++ is good too. More towards programmers, but it does RTF documents just fine.

LOL, yeah Nothinman the other recommendations are completely off the mark. They're exactly what the OP stated he didn't want (besides which those are text editors rather than word processors).

I'm also unaware of anything that meets your specifications, though.
