Hey guys,

Just got my A64/Motherboard combo about an hour ago.

It's been over a year since I put my AXP system in my rig together, and that was my first experience with CPUs out of the box.
AMD's instructions out of the box are a tad confusing with their small pictures, and I'd rather not bumble through it.

So any good guides detailing how to install a A64 CPU? Thanks guys!

Installing the A64 cooler is cake, it's as simple as hooking on the clips and turning a lever until it's fully seated and stops. You will find it's far easier than the XP to mount.

well i didn't want to start a new thread ... but i had some quick questions.

the heatsink looks like it can be instead anyway .... unlike the athlons ... is this correct?
(like if i rotate the heatsink 180) just wanted to know .. never installed a64.

Also, i can just place the heatsink down and let it sit and then put on the spring clip and then hook up the other side? (not like having to hold the heatsink up and hook on the clip and then apply pressure to other side ... like the old athlon sockA?)

thanks guys

Yes to all. They are so easy. Just stick it in there, the plastic base lines it up perfectly, then easily clip the sides on. They go on real easy, nothing near the force you need with an XP, and then you turn the lever, and you're done.
