it's the quality, is it worth 200? I don't believe so, but it is worth a lot more then your typical board. My diNovo (older model) has held up flawlessly for over 2 years now. The A & S keys letters are worn off. But besides that the board works perfectly. I've had $40-50 KB's have keys start to get stuck and spacebars stop working after 6 months. I will buy this new Logitech as soon as it's retailed. $200 bucks or not, it's the sexiest board I've ever seen. And recharagable? never seen that before on a KB :) Of course I'll still be sitting here with my $250 diNovo dOh, too bad they don't offer an upgrade program.

I'm thinking the recharging base is a gimmick, my keyboards batteries last over 9 months and I use my pc a lot. But, it's still a good feature.

Niche market items are usually more expensive because they are not sold in sufficient volume to justify lower unit costs. And, they have to support their R&D & development costs. If you want cheap, go mainstream.
