Anyone know of a good scsi 12x cd burner...time for me to upgrade. I know there are a lot of cheap ide drives out there, but I have no available ide ports.

thanks

Dunno about 12x, but that Yamaha 16x comes in a SCSI flavor. It is a bitchin' drive. I have yet to make any coasters with the IDE version, the SCSI one is even better. *drool*

you can consider a Plextor x12/10/32 SCSI which is an awesome burner!
you say that "I have no available ide ports"! have you considered getting a pci ata controller card like one from promise? that would give you 2 more ide channels for attaching 4 more ide devices on your system! :)

yeah, i kinda ran out of pci slots too, but I have a scsi 4x now, so an easy upgrade would be a scsi one! Anyhow thanks for the info, I will keep an eye out for a yamaha or plextor.

Don't buy the Yamaha : This drive really sucks : the new 16 speed won't even
burn on 16 speed but only at 12-speed. DAE is also really bad !
And it does not support RAW writing, neither does the Plextor.

The only good one is Waitec T-Rex 16/10/40 : it eaven writes 90 minutes cd's
and has also burnproof.
