So I had a bunch of tools (wrenches, ratchets, sockets, vise grips, etc) stored away and the they got water on them and now they're all rusting. When I say a bunch I mean the equivalent of a couple of 5 gal buckets full. What's my best option here for getting all the rust off? There's way too many to do by hand with a wire wheel or anything like that. I thought about a tumbler but I don't have access to one. Any other ideas?

Sandblast those without joints or moving parts. Rinse, dry, oil (immediately after drying!).

Use wd40 and 00 stell wool for any rust that wont come off with just wd 40. Wipe em down and put em away right.

I have teenage sons. I speak form experience.

Might want to put a couple small holes in the bottom of those buckets or get an actual tool box.
