I'm trying to learn to develop for the iPhone/iPod touch and have the SDK from apple. My programming experience consists of some c++, java, fortran, and a bit of perl, but I've never really built GUI applications other than java applets, nor have I used a development environment much before.
I've been going through the tutorials on various sites, both apple's official dev center and user created sites. The dev center seems well, complicated and more like a reference for experienced cocoa developers. The user created sites seem to be using slightly older versions of the SDK where things just don't work the same at all. I can get through the most simple tutorials, but once it starts to use a feature of the SDK more advanced than opening and editing a file, I can't follow along because the option in my version doesn't exist etc.
So, are there any good up to date sites/books you guys can recommend, or perhaps an experienced cocoa developer can help me out with answering a few questions? What's a good forum for cocoa noobs?
I love cocoadevcentral, but he's using a different version and I can't follow along.
Thanks all.
