Tried looking at download.cnet.com?

I find Audiogalaxy to be pretty good for audio. Haven't felt any need to download videos, though.

giFT is a Morpheus clone for Unix-like OS'es.

However, FastTrack (the company that licenses the software engine to other companies) recently broke compatibility with giFT. So the giFT network cannot tap into the Morpheus network, and creates its own network instead.

Why don't you just write your own? Isn't part of the beauty of linux that you can write what you need?
