I want to rent something tonight. Any ideas for a good comedy? Something in the genre of Superbad. Just ridiculous comedies.

Again, i love ridiculous comedies...but this movie sucked. Flat out sucked.

Haven't seen it myself, but want to because I haven't heard bad things (until you). Why?

Oh, and so it's not a complete thread-jack: The Big Lebowski, This is Spinal Tap

I found it to be unfunny, beyond stupid, and poor acting. I wasn't expecting much, but found i got absolutely nothing from it. And just for reference of what comedies i do enjoy, that would be movies such as Airplane!, Superbad, Knocked Up (and the rest from that line of movie types), Super Troopers (and the rest from Broken Lizard), etc.

Edit: BUT, don't let me decide for you. If you wanted to see it, see it. I never let people decide for me if I wanted to see a movie or not...so i wouldn't expect anyone to let me decide for them. FWIW i thought The Simpsons Movie was horrible. Just rehashed old jokes from the TV series and nothing different IMO.

I agree with you on Idiocracy being stupid, had an interesting plot but turned out to be an utter failure. I also agree with Super Troopers and Airplane! being good comedies, but I *hate* Apatow movies (Superbad, Knocked Up, etc..)

Yeah, that's a good one.

Has the OP seen 'Office Space'? That movie is freaking hilarious.
I thought that '40 Year Old Virgin' was very funny also.
How about 'A Fish Called Wanda'?

If you like 'Airplane' I'd check out some of the National Lampoon movies like '1941', 'Animal House', and 'Vacation'. The original movie 'MASH' was also very good.

'Planes, Trains, and Automobiles' is a great holiday comedy. Ooh, that reminds me of Steve Martin's 'The Jerk'...classic funny movie.
