Any good motherboard diagnostic programs?

So lately my new (< 6 months old) Windows 7 rig has been having BSDs up the ass. Memtest86 (bootable and within windows) brought up memory errors. Great. Would explain things, but then I had this weird issue with my motherboard's built in LAN. For some reason it wouldn't connect under either Windows 7 or my Arch Linux installation for about 30 minutes. Laptop connected fine through the same jack so it wasn't a network issue. Had to power cycle (flip master switch on PSU) to get it to work again. Obviously it's working fine now, but it's never done that before and given that I'm looking at memory errors, I'm wondering if that problem could be with the MB as well (physical problem with the RAM slots?)

So are there any good motherboard diagnostic programs out there that would help? Would be nice to confirm if I need new RAM, new motherboard, or God forbid both. 😛 Any other help would also be extremely appreciated.

Pertinent System Specs:
ASUS M4A785TD-V EVO
COOLER MASTER Silent Pro 700
CORSAIR XMS3 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM DDR3 1600

I haven't seen a software-based motherboard diganostics program since around 1988. They may exist, but I've neither seen one recently nor heard of any.

Distinguishing between a failing motherboard, a failing processor, and failing memory can be tricky, because software tests are really testing all three simultaneously. Fortunately, memory fails much more often than motherboards or processors.

As far as network cards, they are cheap if you need to add one.

Do you have access to another machine that you can test your RAM in? A friend that had DDR2/3, parent, work PC, etc?

Well turns out just one of the sticks was bad, running off the good stick and the BSDs are gone. Still don't know what caused the network card to fuck up, but it hasn't happened again so I'm satisfied. Yay I don't have to replace my motherboard. 🙂
