I just downloaded Diaspora (a great game if you are bored and have the time), and was wandering if anyone knew of any good MUDs. Please post the link and why you like it or something like that. You can even just post the link, I don't care what you think anyway (j/k).

I personally have not played alot of MMOGs, although I am in the beta for Fallen Age. It has some ways to go, but it doesn't look bad.

There's also Lineage: The Blood Pledge...

There is also some game called Red Moon or whatnot.

Then there's the Ultima Online games...

The Everquest games...

Asheron's Call...

Anarchy Online...

WWII Online...

There WAS going to be a Middle Earth Online too but something happened and it doesn't look like anything's going on with the development. :|

Hm... sorry that I didn't provide URLs for these games... I'm not exactly into MMOGs, due to my budget. :(

I got WW2 Online yesterday and overall it's okay. Not the greatest, mostly due to the fact that I rarely find combat and I'm usually just driving my tank around and then get shot outta nowhere and have to start over. Hmph maybe when the war starts things will be more in central areas instead of people just driving across a million fields.

I play Everquest and it is fun. It really depends on what you like. Ultima Online is PvP, and some like that, EQ is not (well most don't anyway), it is player vs. emvironment with high incentives to group with other players cooperatively. Again some like it, some hate it.

At $20 for the original title, I'd give EQ a try, the first month is free then bout $10/month.

I'd also keep my eyes open for Shadowbane, due out later this year (so the rumor goes)Shadowbane

You can get the original Everquest for $10 now at Compusa any time. I got it for $5 a few weeks ago. Like the prior poster said, the first month is free. I tried it out & couldn't get it to work right on my system at home or work-couldn't get good connections to servers for some reason.

EQ tech responded promptly with a huge list of info they needed to help me, 3/4 of which they already had. I took my problems as a sign from the man above (plus I was not impressed with the little bit of wandering around I did do), canceled the account and deleted it. Your mileage may vary.

I personally am looking for something like Diablo & Diablo 2. I presume that the upcoming expansion pack will cause online Diablo2 to be impossible-the servers are pretty bad right now.

I would strongly advise against purchasing EQ at this point, since Anarchy Online, which is hailed as the first Second Generation MMORPG and true successor to EQ, will be out on Wednesday. All former EQ, UO, AC, etc. players will be picking one of those up next week.
