I love Gothic 2 and I have already played morrowind and Oblivion. Any suggestions?

ps. I nearly fell out my chair laughing when I read a review for Gothic 2 and someone referred to it as a First Person Shooter ROFL

If you want some great oldies ,try Arx Fatalis link (great game).

Two Worlds is due for world wide release in about 6-8 weeks time, see my thread here.

yeah arx fatalis was awesome, need a sequel to that one. as for Gothic 3 i thought of it but im scared by the commenst that it is fatally buggy and the battle system with animals is insanely broken to the point that a hog can kill you even though you have awesome armor. am i wrong?

Gothic ... Gothic3 ... it's patched now ... still a huge resource hog that needs 2GB RAM ... it IS a little hard in the beginning ... you have to remember to RUN ... but so is stalker

Oblivion --Shivering Isles/Plugins/Mods ... dozens of hours of *more* greatplay

Fable: Lost Chapters ... a much smaller world but really cool story

*maybe* NWN2 .... if you like top down D&D3 games

STALKER ... sci-fi version of Gothic .. set in the nuclear Holocaust that is Chernobyl ... but you get guns ... and a knife instead of a sword and B&A ... gritty 'atmospheric' RPG disguised as a FPS .... you quest to find out who you are and gain experience and can even experience alignment ... however, you don't get to "pause" to go into your inventory ... the action continues :p

ive won Fable (waiting for Fable 2) and stalker (stalker story was lame) Tried NWN2 thought it sucked compared to NWN1 but I cant tell you why. Played Oblivion and still playing it LOL. Gothic 3, hmm only have 1 gig ram so i guess im screwed if I want non jerky play

Shivering Isles?

Much better than the MQ in Oblivion ... a much better "world" where the NPCs recognize your changing status

then there are the hybrids ... DM M&M ... a fun 25 -30 hours if you explore and don't 'kick' all the time ... 4 endings

you *can* play G3 on 1GB of RAM ... i finished it ... but i do not recommend it for the painful save/reload times or the occasional 'stutter' as your HD thrashes frantically
-try the Demo ... maybe

of course Gothic ...

i didn't like NWN2 ... either .... but i have to be"fair"
... LOVED fable ... wish it was a pet dragon instead of a pet dog, though for Fable II

Oh, with STALKER did you get the *real* ending? ... the *false* "wish-granter endings were lame
--the battle thru the Portals was pretty good for the 'real ending'

I won Dark Messiah also haha. I wish someone would patch Gothic 1 so you could play with the mouse instead of the keyboard like in Gothic 2

I just finished Star Wars: KOTOR2, it's $17 at Amazon right now.

It was a lot of fun, though the story is missing a few pieces and the ending is weak like everyone warned me. As someone else put it:
"KOTOR 1 is 100% of a good game, KOTOR 2 is 80% of an epic game."

Of course if you haven't played KOTOR 1 yet, start with that. And from your nickname odds are you've already played both :)

i can't get into it :p

did you play SI/Kot9?

Since someone mentioned KotOR ... VtmB is the - "Vampire DeusEx" hybrid rpg ... great if you play with the fan made patch

PREY if you can stand FPS ... beautiful gfx and easy ... shooter with Portals

and B&W2 is an *amazing* Godgame/RTS where you exercise your Divine Will thru a Creature that you train from a baby to a warrior ... i can't stand RTS ... yet this drew me in ... i played thru it a couple of times [you get better stats to carry with you when you start over] ... MUST be fully patched!

I loved G3, but it sounds like your system is going to suffer, a shame. The Gothic series has always been a pretty unique series so it is hard to suggest similar games. It's world adventure style reminds me of games of old, such as Stonekeep. Where as it's gameplay reminds me more of Hexen 2 (3rd Person Melee based 'Shooter'). So if I were going to recommend something, I would decide on what part of Gothic2 you are trying to recreate, because you won't get that exact mesh.

i played it with the very latest ... this week ... just curious as i finished it long ago ... and it was *torture* then.

the performance - after running around for an hour or so ... admiring the view and finding all the stuff i missed the first time thru - was waaay better then i remember

and not a single crash to desktop or hard lock-up ... i would have had a couple by then with an earlier version but then my system is twice more powerful than my old once and 2 GB makes the experience much smoother
--there is still that annoying 'transition' stutter ... i *hate* it

maybe 4 GB of RAM might be enough ... i should have that by the time i get Vista and play the G3 expansion :p
