Furniture stores or wholesalers are OK. Looking for something nice, durable, higher end than Ikea but not necessary Crate & Barrel. Hope that give you an idea of the price range I am looking for.

Is there any good sales on furniture right now? Fatwallet doesn't have much going on for furnitures.

Best bet is probably Marlo or Value City Furniture. Both subscribe to scummy commission pay, so that's a hassle, though they're probably most reasonable for furniture (not in DC, but close enough in MD/VA).

Other than that, there's really only places like Crate and Barrel, Pottery Barn, Macy's Furniture... none of which are exactly cheap.

i had a terrible experience at marlo. ordered a living room set, they charged us full price but did not have any in stock. kept calling, they kept assuring more were coming soon, but then would say there was a waiting list. would not tell us our place on the list, nor how many units were expected. eventually we had to drive back to the store to cancel the order which was also a hassle.

Very poor business practices IMO and I will not be returning.

when i lived in maryland, i bought a bunch of new furniture and i wanted things that were different than what everyone had from Marlo. I looked everywhere and finally went to this store and I found a ton of things I LOVED there - bought some leather couches and gorgeous marble-topped wine console. It wasn't outrageously expensive, either.

Belfort Furniture has a massive showroom on Route 28 just north of Dulles airport.
