Just got my 40 gig $49 Acomdata removable HD set up and am ready to start backing stuff up.

Is there any good, free software for doing backups?

Do I actually need software or can I just copy my whole hard drive by doing drop and drag into the removable hard drive?

I'd like to be able to find some software to make a single-CD system restore disk like OEM PCs come with. That'd be awesome.

plextor cdr drives used to come with an application that did that, called Res-Q i think, i don't know if they still provide it with their drives or not

looks like they still do

hmmm, looks like you have to go scsi though
CD Res-Q is no longer available for purchase. It still ships with our SCSI CD-RW drives.
