I am having one hell of a recovery nightmare with my PC. I'm currently running a diagnostic on the new hard drive with about an hour to go.

I've gone down a lot of roads to get this resolved. My next step is going to be to format the drive by hand and make sure it has one partition on it.

Is there a free tool that can do this? I need the tool to be bootable for obvious reasons (I have a blank hard drive).

Any help is appreciated. long winded explanation later if you really want it. I have to take my son to a speech class for now though. Be back in about 4 hours. Or 8 PMish Eastern time.
