Totally agree wth this. This game took me by surprise when I played it. Not that long though, maybe 8-10 hours but the story is pretty cool.

I almost fired up SOF2 this weekend. Was going through old cd's and found my discs for the game. I remembered really liking this game.... I'm afraid if I play it now it will ruin my memories.

Yeah I have that as well and tried it again a couple years back and well...i wondered how I played something like that.

Tried that this morning, man is it ugly! Looks and plays like something from the 90's.

well, its a different thing from your typical fps. i've been playing it for a week now, and yeah its not exactly "competitive", but its ok to pass the time. leveling is slow, you need to gear up much like WOW, a piece at the time, and with gear of increasing rarity. there's missions which give you rewards which become progressively harder, lots of camping, lots of one-sided games and spawn camping is almost a rule.

maps look gorgeous imho but there's only like six of them. hopefully it will get better later on (open world is comping at some point, apparently).

Maps look gorgeous? Something is either wrong with my settings or your eyes, it looks awful to me. LOL

I have everything set to ultra and it still looks terrible. IMO it looks worse than the earlier STALKER games before any mods. I know its a beta but the game needs a lot of work, the character movements feel really floaty and the sound is atrocious.

Ugh. Why couldn't they just make another single player STALKER.

Well the last news I heard was that GSC Game World is back and making another game, hopefully its STALKER.

I can, and I will again. It looks just like all the older STALKER games and when compared to something like BF4 or Crysis 3 it looks like crap.
