For the most part - I would tend to avoid meeting females on line. Generally, they are not physically up to par. I have been modeming since about 1986 or so and it is not too often that I would meet any hot girls on line.

Except, for these sisters I dated about 5 or 6 years ago. The older one was a modern dancer going to college in Davis, CA. I broke up with her and dated her sister after she got out of high school and became legal. That was cool. But, that was a very rare thing. Most of the girls I have met online look like nose tackles for some pro football team. There are exceptions, especially now with more and more people going online. But, you never really know until that fatal moment when you decide to actually meet them somewhere.

My roommate started talking to a female unit off in Iowa or Idaho - one of those farming states. Eventually, she flew out to California to meet him. Now, I had heard her voice one time in a voice mail she left him and I guessed she would be.. plus sized. And, lo and behold, indeed she was a stout woman. Not as if he minded.. apparently, he likes women with "junk in the trunk". But, it just goes to show that attractive women on line are a rare and treasured commodity.

Sorry there's just too many perverts out there. The stats are something like 70/30 male to female ratio in chat rooms.... but somehow the login identities come out to be 50/50 nearly.... hmmmmm....

So unless you're prepared for a male / shemale relationship, I'd stay the hell away.

I've met several nice women through it so far. Nothings worked out but as I said I have had the opportunity to chat with some very interesting people. Oh so far no over weight wacky woman.

Your best bet though is still the real world. That were all my long term relationships have been fostered.

Story - My friend once visited this girl in NY that he had met over the internet. She turned out to live in this smelly dirty apartment that was full of cats. He said that it stuck so bad that he nearly threw up.
 
you could try collegeclub.com. I go to Davis and they're always handing out free stuff trying to get me to go there. I was so bored I went there for the first time the other day. It seemed like there were a lot of guys and girls on, I couldn't believe how moronic most of the posts were. After Anandtech, I just couldn't deal with the void of thought provoking posts and immediately left.
