Im going to get some flight sims for my bud but I havent played any since FA117A like 10 years ago on the Mac. Can I get some names of some really good flight sims/fighter sims that have come out over the last few years? I dont care if its arcade style or sim style, just some fun games.

Man, if FA117A was anything like F19 Stealth Fighter, you'll love Falcon 4!

I love this game. You can fly any plane (even stuff like the KC-135 and An-28), there are dynamic campaigns. It's great, check it out. The biggest problem is that it has a steep learning curve.

It's not 100% new but it's got some decent 3d graphics: Crimson Skies. It's definately more arcade than sim but gawd is it fun. The gameplay is just an absolute blast. There are quite a few people on this board who've played it so I'm sure someone will back me up on this soon.

Download the demo to give it a try. It's difficult on the realistic settings so make sure you set it to "easy". It's certainly the best looking sim ever released, and some say the best sim ever.
 
Microsoft's Combat Flight Simlator 1 & 2 are great games because they're easy to play. I can't really comment on the third one because I'm still having problems running it on my Radeon. 🙁
 
I tried sturmovik, awesome game. I use to play crimson skies all the time back in the day, VERY fun game! Thats the kind of game Im lookin for, very arcade style gameplay. Only problem is, it wont work on win xp to my knowledge...

Lock on looks amazing... this screenshot alone makes me want it

As for MS Combat Flight Sims, never tried em... Ill check for a demo tonite.

Right now Im totally hooked on BF 1942 and Road to Rome. With my Logitech cordless freedom stick, I can dogfight like no other now! So much fun.

Me too, I have tried a bunch of drivers to no avail. It wedges hard, right out of the gate, ever since XP SP1🙁
