any good dvd ripper programs out there?

im hoping to rip my brothers dvd of pirates of the carribean before he leaves next week...any good programs to use? also, how many gigabytes does a dvd movie take on a hard drive. thanks....

You must have meant to say the following:

"Before my brother goes back to his home, I would like to make a "backup" copy of his Pirates of the Carribean DVD in the event he scratches the original disc. Should he scratch his original disc, I can safely pull out the backup copy that we made at Christmas time and I can mail it to him so he can enjoy the movie."

With that being said, DVDShrink does a great job of making backup copies of DVDs. You can then use Nero or CloneDVD to apply the backed up copy of the movie to a 4.7GB DVD disc. 😉
