my router has been acting up lately, so I've been looking to replace it. to cut down on the wiring, though, I was thinking about trying to get an all-in-one box (ideally wireless .g as well, but it's not 100% required).

anyone know of any good ones? :)

Pick out your favorite brand or find one on sale. I personally like the linksys offerings.

I recently networked my relative's comps using a linksys wrt54gs and it performs very well. you can even flash the firmware to operate very nice features.

However, at my house, I'm using a Linksys BEFSR41 and that router acts during downloads. I updated the firmware and it has run a lot better.

perhaps you can check your routers firmware before getting a new one...

just my suggetion and good luck :)

The Route part of the Modem/Router combo is usually not as good as the stand alone Routers.

In addition the it reduces the flexibility of the system.

Pro: You save One Cable.

Con: Not as Good, and less flexible.

It is your call.
