I am going to install DirectTV in my new place and got two satellite receivers. The first one is nice and simple. The balcony where the dish is located will have a TV about 15 feet away from it. Not too complicated even for a simpleton like myself. The other TV is not as easy to setup. The apartment is "L" shaped and would require about 200 feet of coax around doors and along baseboard. To complicate things the frames of the doors are metal and cannot be used to tack the wire. Any staples in the drywall will quickly loosen. Finally, it would suck aesthetically for all the wire to be running along the wall.
Now the question. Any know of any RF devices that can beam the signal to that room? I would basically have coax cable run from the dish to just inside the house. Then some sort of transmitter sending the signal to a receiver. The receiver would than be plugged into the satellite receiver. Total distance will be about 40 feet. Line of sight ends as the wall makes a 90 degree turn. The bedroom TV is more of a convenience so I am not looking for DVD quality.
Anyone know of any such system? For those that have used them, how is the performance? Thanks.
