I need to put up a Win PC to upload videos via FTP
and
then RDC - Remote Desktop Connect from another country

to render some videos with Adobe Premiere CC ...

what's a good place to buy one?

===========================

* I will put an SSD if it doesn't come with one
* and I will add more RAM from crucial.com

(no need for a CD drive ...)

this will be for casual work

so speed is not that important ...

so I will NOT even add any video card to help rendering

I want to spend as much as needed but as least as possible ... in other words the less the better ... nothing fancy ... least that would get the job done ...

I guess my #1 objective is
CPU # of cores - 4 will do 8 is best and Intel Xeon is prefered as per https://www.pugetsystems.com/labs/articles/Adobe-Premiere-Pro-CC-Multi-Core-Performance-698/
CPU L2 Cache size

WHERE TO BUY ONE?

I recently picked up a Dell T-3500 with a X5550 off of Ebay for $180.00 shipped (US west coast). I popped a $50 X5650 in it and called it good. There is plenty of hardware out there for these units so repairs are cheap and not a worry, if necessary.

You can rent a computer in the cloud now, complete with a GPU:

https://paperspace.io/

You can either pay a monthly fee for it to stay on 24/7 (depending on how much horsepower you need), or else just pay for the actual time used. Supports drag & drop (no FTP needed), multiple monitors, and I believe they have servers on both the east & west US coasts now.

EBay has some amazing deals on used servers. You could probably find something good in your price range like a Dell PowerEdge server for under $200.

Or, you could sign up for a cloud hosting service like Azure for VCloud Air and run it for free for a few months with the service credits they give you to start. Just keep a close eye on the billing.
