I'm looking to get some good memory for a new P5Q-E motherboard that I will be ording soon. This is one of the few 4GB kits that is listed in ASUS charts as compatible in 4 stick Dual Channel mode...but I'm not sure how good it is. There was another more expensive kit that had EPP, but I didn't know what that was.

My CPU will likely be an Dual Core 8400 or a Quad core, depending on were I finally land. OS will be VISTA 64.

Mostly for Gaming, internet and general office work.

I'll probably overclock as well as much as I can.

thanks

Just got some for my Asus P5K and it runs flawless. Simple put the volts to 2.1 and did the 5-5-5-15 and runs great. Only drawback so far is i need to tweak some things and i don't have a nvidia sli motherboard to take advantage of the settings for that. But i need to tweak the ram and do some test as of now my G.Skill pc6400 gets better benchmarks then this pc8500. But great sticks just tall make sure you have room for them.

Using the Corsair on a Rampage, E8500 with Vista 64. Booted first time with everything on auto, volts at 1.9. Set bios to manual and set volts to 2.04, and ram at 1066. Everything was running fine till I had some sound driver issues, had a couple of blue screens. Got stable then changed the 1900XTX to my 2 3870's, had a driver deal again. Re-booted running 3D Mark06. Re-installed drivers and everything seems ok. Got my best 3D scores yet. Checked bios and found that at some time during my screwing around the bios reset to auto and the ram is running at 1.9 again. Seems to put up with my fumbling around with my first build and first use of Vista.

They say in corsairs forum to disable the legacy support and it stops some issues also. May want to check into that and see what happens. No blue screens are anything but that ram needs 2.1 volts to run might be a reason also.

Got the same memory on my Rampage Formula, 4 sticks of them at 1080MHz 5-5-5-15 2.0V, stable and runs just barely warm, love them.

It's a very good 2x2 GB kit. OCs well :)

If i was buying a DDR2-1066 kit, i'd more than likely be buying either that one or the Mushkin Ascents.
