I own Enchanted Arms, Eternal Sonata, Blue Dragon, Two Worlds and Oblivion (pc).
Enchanted Arms, Eternal Sonata and Blue Dragon have their strengths and weaknesses but they all have one thing in common.. like most JRPG's they are all ultra linear. No real exploration as you simple follow the story in a straight path. Thats not a big deal if you enjoy JRPGs so I'll assume you are used to it.
Enchanted Arms has a unique grid based battle system with lots of Golem "familiars" you can add to your party. Each Golem is unique in its attacks, look, defense..etc. You'll probably pick a favorite and stick with it for most of the game. EA is fairly easy and it took me around 30 hours to finish up. The graphics are decent but don't expect anything that a xbox can't handle though the monsters/bosses look good. The sound is ok and the music is mediocre. I honestly don't remember any of the music so thats not the greatest sign and the voices are hit and miss. One of the characters is...well...pretty damn fruity...as in gay. His voice may annoy you..lol. You should be able to find the game for 20 bucks these days so its a safe purchase but don't expect much.
Blue Dragon has a simple, kiddy storyline with cute characters and all (the whole kids save the world stuff). Very generic story but if you enjoy FF style games then you'll like Blue Dragon. The graphics are wonderful though the depth of blur effect is beyond overkill. The battles are typical FF style battles and they look great. You don't use (or buy) weapons, armor..etc but rather your character's shadows do the work. You'll upgrade the shadow's stats as you level up and you'll get new skills (out of 8 classes..I think its 8.). The world looks great on a whole but the game is very straightforward as you pretty much follow the paved path as the story progresses. The music is fine (typical jrpg fare) and it has one of the worst boss tunes EVER (which makes it great!) and the voices are fine though I'm sure many will prefer the japanese voice overs. Its a fine game if you enjoy JRPGs and it'll keep you busy for a long time. It took me around 50 hours but thats doing all the extra bosses and stuff around the world.
Eternal Sonata has great looking characters and an active battle system (not menu based) where you control the characters when its their turn and jab away at the attacks and special attack buttons..etc. I liked the battle system as it sort felt like an action game though obviously its not. There are lots of characters to play as (though 3 at a time) and the story is ok. The game is supposed to take place in the mind of Frederic Chopin though its really standard JRPG fare. While the story progresses you'll learn more about the real life Chopin (with photos of places he resided) and you'll hear some of his work as well. I wish the game's soundtrack on a whole uses Chopin's pieces as inspiration but much of it is generic jrpg stuff to me. The story can be really pretentious and sappy but the artwork is really bright and colorful and the game is entertaining. The ending is also ridiculously long but I won't say what happens. I finished it at around the 25 hour mark so its not the longest game but like Blue Dragon its a fine purchase.
Two Worlds is a fucking mess of a game. Nothing really positive to say about the game but if you have a great gaming pc and you enjoy the Gothic series then you'll probably get into Two Worlds somehow. The game has an awful story and some of the worst writing you will ever read in a rpg. Its unintentionally hilarious. Its sorta like, "Pray tell old man, hath you seen the demon in that yonder cave? Nay! Mayhap I saw something fierce ...blah blah blah.." its awful! Avoid the game.
..god damn ...I can't believe I rambled on like that. Sorry for the mess. lol
