Any golfers here?

Just looking to get some other topics going on in this forum other than cars and chicks... while those aren't necessarily bad.

I just picked up the game again 3 months ago and I'm looking to get serious now... anyone here play seriously, or do we have nothing but hackers (the golf kind) around here?

I try, I have a good short game but I cant control my drives very well.

Right now I'm just inconsistent with my swing... which I think I'll get worked out with more practice. When I'm swinging well I drive the ball about 280-300. What I really ought to do is go take some lessons so I can get the hitches in my swing ironed out.

I played 4 years during highschool, haven't really touched it since though. Will pick it up after I graduate grad school probably. When I was playing I only played my irons, I couldn't hit my drivers for anything. When the course isnt too long it never really hurt me that much.

I've jumped in with both feet again this year after last year's wrecked back.
My handicap has taken a beating. I was a 9 last year when I had to give it up. I'm a 13 right now. I haven't gotten my touch back around the greens.

You drive for show and putt for dough.

I dont get to play nearly often enough My drives have been pretty good lately, getting 270-280 with my 3 wood. One day I will learn to hit the driver My short game just sucks.

I tried to get into golf, but I just don't have the patience---I do, however, like to go to a driving range and knock a couple of buckets around---best stress reliever I've found.

Hell, that's easy... they're usually driving the beer carts at the course on Saturdays.

i guess the trick to the beer cart ladies is to play golf often enough so that you acctually know them by name, etc. hmm.......hehe to bad i am not of legal drinking age...

They don't sell ONLY beer on those carts, you know. And the girls driving those carts are usually 18-21.

if you really want to be good (and have fuN), get some lessons!

Don't buy the latest and greatest golf technology, cuz you can't buy your way into a good game (ok, SOMETIMES)
