Any Goldmine 6.0 Admins out there? Help!

I have inherited the admin duties for Goldmine in my company. We were on a POOR implementation of GM 5.7 when I got here. It worked, so I didn't rock the boat.

The boss recently decided we were going to upgrade to GM 6. I figured if I was going to have to do it. I would start over and do it "by the book". Mistake! The book sucks!

I was following the install manual verbatim and could not connect the clients to the server. GM support tech, "On, don't use the install manual. It is wrong." NO SHIT!

So now everything is up and running, I just need to iron out a few things.

I have 1 remote user. In the past, I compressed the DB and put it on FTP for him. He is on dial-up (cheap bastard!) so it takes a while. Once he has the file, I remote him and install the DB. It works but makes my life more challenging than I like.

Part of GM 6 allows syncing (I think 5.7 did too, remember though our setup was total crap). I want to set up an email or some type of sync for him but am confused about setting up the license manager and how to install his client.

Any help out there for a brother in need?
