any gigabyte EP45-DQ6 owners here?

i just bought and installed one over the weekend. i knew i was getting a over clocking board but WOW!! 😱 did not know what i was getting totally. what are your experiences with it? i have a Q9450 on mine with a mild over clock so far.

that is funny you say about dual core being better, another person told me quads are good to overclock with this board. 🙂

i love this thing!!! i have my 9450 at 3.2 GHZ ( 400X8 ) at default voltages and am very happy with the performance. i am installing a 4870x2 tomorrow to sweeten it even more. i have vacation coming in couple of weeks to tweak it some more

Well how you doing? I'm not certain about the duo and Quad thing. I had tried my Q6600 on myX48-DQ6 and it didn't but it was a different board to so......... My 8600 loved that board.

I had a 5.3Mhz with it too but didn't catch a link

thats because you went from a 65nm quad to a 45nm dual. most Q6600s were dogs but some could get above 3.6.

my q9550 did 4.1 ghz on my EP45-UD3R. most of them will do at least 3.9. has little to do with "dual vs quad' and everything to do with 65nm vs 45.

NO SHIT REALLY, I got my Q6600 up to 4.0 Ghz, With phase I could have gone way higher....Another high jacked thread

hang on larry i'm sure he has some electrifying comeback for you too. since we're wrong and he's right and all Q6600s can do 7 ghz with the stock cooler.
