I've never had a smart phone but the WP7 platform has really got me excited enough to get one finally. I'm on Verizon and up for a new phone but they really seem to be the worst WP7 carrier out there. From what it sounds like they'll be getting the HTC Trophy in March and while it seems be to a nice phone, it only looks average at bests.

So, for those wanting a Verizon WP7 phone, are you going to get the Trophy or are you waiting for another WP7 phone to come out?

I'm going to give it a serious look. I really like the platform and look forward to jumping back on when it comes to Verizon.

To me it's the perfect mix of open vs. closed. My Dad has a Droid X and it's a nice phone but the overall experience doesn't seem as polished as WP7. It really is the best overall ecosystem considering the Zune Marketplace with Zune Pass and Xbox Live. I've had a Zune HD for over a year now so I really like this type of UI. Really as silly as it seems what I love most about my Zune is the pinned icons on the left. It has anything I pin there, but also recent stuff I've put on the device and the the 6 or so things I've played in the history. It's so handy to just have the stuff I just put on there and a real history.

When the Trophy comes out and there are no rumors of other devices, I'll probably just get it. I can wait until late spring, but I'm going to jump before it gets too far into summer.

It's just a rumor I guess: http://www.winrumors.com/verizon-to-launch-windows-phone-7-device-in-late-march/

I believe it considering sprint got their WP7, the trophy looks like a pretty nice phone too I just wish HTC would start using better screens on their phone the viewing angles always put me off.

There's another rumor out there that the Trophy won't arrive until June. If that were to happen, I think I'll just buy a used android phone until the Mango update arrives late this year/early next year.

I still think the Trophy is coming out by the end of the month though, and most likely I'll get it.

Don't have much faith in Verizon even since people started reporting that the iPhone's coming from the carrier had old faithful Apple signal problem .... Going to stay with AT&T for a looong time

What does this have to do with the launch of a WP7 phone on Verizon?

Looks like the exact same specs as the Arrive, just minus the keyboard.

All the WP7 phones have basically the same specs anyway: 1GHz Snapdragon, ~512MB RAM, 800x480 capacitative touchscreen.

Thankfully, WP7 runs smooth as silk on those old Snapdragon processors :)

Cool, im really diggin' this phone. The only thing i picked up that needs to be fixed/added/updated is vibrate only for emails. The facebook integration is great. I came from a Pre, and the Pre would download all your friends as contacts, which WM7 allows you to just update your current contacts with photos. Also im using the touchscreen more than the physical keyboard.

Not only this, but the majority of users and reviewers including Anand himself mentioned that the iPhone 4 signal issue is more or less non existent on Verizon.

Actually, I've read that there still are some issues with the antenna on the Verizon iPhone, but doesn't really matter to me anyway. I really like the UI of WP7 and the happy middle ground between Android and iOS in terms of openness and flexibility.

Sigh, still no Verizon WP7 device. I'd consider switching to AT&T but they seem to love blocking updates.

No 4G though, right?

Only phones on Verizon right now that are worth buying. If you live in a 4G area, Thunderbolt or Charge. Non 4G area, Incredible 2. In two weeks, the Droid X2. So long as you have no desire to root/tweak anytime soon anyway. :p

4G is pretty awesome, but I'd still take the Trophy over the Incredible 2 or Droid X2.

He's right about the 4G though. If you live in one of the markets, there really is no comparison. I've got the Charge now and I know all my phones from now on have to be 4G capable.

Any word on when WP7 gets 4G?

I haven't heard any rumors about 4G WP7 devices but I'd be surprised if any are coming out this year.

I think we will see the second round of WP7 phones when WP7.5 comes out later this year. I wouldn't be the least bit surprised to see a Thunderbolt-like device with WP7 on it.

This is just speculation. There's nothing I know of that's been officially announced. I do remember that Dell's leaked roadmap showed a new WP7 device for the fall however.
