I'm looking for some games that are similiar to the ones mentioned in the title.
Stalker is on the list.

Any others out there?

Thanks

Chronicles of Riddick has a lot of Thief's stealth elements.

The Splinter Cell series is somewhat of a mash between Theif's stealth elements and Hitman's gameplay.

Condemned is a similarly themed game as FEAR (horror), although much less gunplay and more hand-to-hand combat with weapons.

If you don't mind going back a couple of years, try System Shock 2, made by the same publisher of the Thief series. It's a FPS with RPG elements that incorporates stealth and horror. Very scary and atmospheric game, especially for its time. You can download it free here: http://www.the-underdogs.info/game.php?gameid=3924 (the torrent option is fast).

You could go really old-school and try STRIFE... I really enjoyed it, and the branching stories made for some interesting gameplay... of course, it's based on the original Doom engine so beware: there's not much in terms of eye-candy :)

System Shock 2 and Deus Ex.
You go running and gunning like Doom and you will get your head blown off quite fast.

Deus Ex favors stealth and planning over firepower. In fact, (I havent done it myself) but I have been told its possible to get through the entire game without killing anybody.

NOLF 2 is a good stealth-based game. It's made by the same studio as FEAR. It's a highly intelligent game also, once you play it, you'll see what I mean. This game is as close to James Bond gameplay as you'll find. The only drawback, if you consider it a drawback, is that you play the role of Kate Archer, female British agent.

The first game in this series, "The Opertive: No One Lives Forever" had lots of cool gadgets like a zip cord, lipstick bombs, and I enjoyed playing that for over 2 years. NOLF2 goes even further, losing some of the gadgets in the first one and adding other gadgets such as a crossbow w/scope, kitten bombs, door decoder compacts, etc. Also, there are objects you can interact with, like unscrewing lightbulbs, to enhance your stealth. There are vehicles you can drive, snowmobile, motorcycle. Also, you can play the game as run'n'gun if you want. There are plenty of mgs if that's your preference. The story line is very good, as is the original.

NOLF2 was an awesome game. Lots of good action, a good storyline and plenty of tongue-in-cheek humour.

Good times!

That is the greatest thing about Deus Ex; you can play it so many different ways. I am playing the sequel right now and it is making me nostalgic for the original DE, I may need to try and unearth a copy somewhere...

in fairness i will say the beginning requires more stealth than raw power, since you can't necessarily tank stuff at that point. but yeah, DE leaves you LOTS of choices :D

if you only try once ... there isn't much evidence to remove ;)

ANYWAY, i am sending DeuSex to a cyber-friend in Australia, tomorrow ... and since the CD is a little used and a bit scratched i installed and ran it to test for him

the old game [2000] supports 12x8 and does looks pretty good with [temporal/hiQ] 8xAA/16XAF ... i didn't even look for texture packs
:Q

i even played it a few minutes until i remembered ... i succeeded ... the first time :p

great game!

You can run it in any resolution with a simple change in the deusex.ini file. I use 20x15 and it still looks pretty good with its detail texture effect.

most newer games can be changed ... i was just amazed that DE was "state of the art" for 2K ... i am not replaying it ... i know *what happens* ...:p

Yes, I've played all 3 thief games, but I haven't heard of the expansion I don't think.
I started prey but got a bit bored.

I just got Chronicles of Riddick and i'm seriously liking it.

keep going with PREY ... it gets better

and google for it ... 'TX2 - Shadows of the Metal Age' ... it is the 'in-between' story ... between Thief2 and DS

exceptional!

you just need the Thief2 disk to play ... free DL

Riddick is awesome. Thief 3 and Deus Ex 2 are both worthwhile games to play IMO. While both seemed to have lost something in translation from the original, both had better graphics, decent stories (albeit hokey), and good atmosphere (including sneaking).

This is kind of a bit of a range. I take it you've played HL2? That is a must. I also thought Condemned was awesome. If you liked FEAR, you'll like it. SS2 is definitely a game you should play. Must update to the high res graphics though.

I wish I could find my copy of System Shock 2. It seems to have disappeared when I redid the office..sigh.
