Any games like Baldurs Gate released since?

Not that I know of, but Bioware's Star Wars: Knight of the Old Republic is kind of like Baldur's Gate meet Star Wars.

I agree Kotor 1 and 2 have the things that made BG great, good story telling, completely different experiences when you go good or evil (light side/dark side 😉)
And lots of companion interaction. Tho I do feel kotor 1 had more lively characters, I felt more connected to them, but maybe that'll come with kotor 2 (I'm not done playing it yet, I think i'm not even half way yet)

I think either Bioware or Black Isle went out of bussiness after Never Winter Nights was published.
But somebody picked up the rights to Baldurs Gate 3.

KOTOR 2 has no ending you will be confused, the worst part is that on one of the discs is a script for a really good ending, besides that KOTOR 2 is a great game (so is KOTOR 1 for that matter)

Planescape: Torment = best RPG ever. Same format (well, nearly...some interface changes) as BGI and II as well.

NWN is the only thing I can think of post BG2 that is similar. You can get the platinum edition which comes with all the expansions.

As many have said:

Buy KOTOR I, you'll love it.
Buy KOTOR II, you'll get more of the same stuff.

I loved KoTOR I.
KoTOR II is a terrible, bug infested game with a lot of shortcuts taken which obviously impact the flow of the story.

NWN was supposed to be BG3, but has none of the party interaction 🙁
icewind dale = baldur's gate but a) different story b) you choose all the characters (5 monks and a mage would = pwnage!)

Black Isle was closed by Interplay. 🙁

NWN was made by Bioware, and is a really good game, but itwas never or intended to be BG3. I should check and see how many disks the Platinum edition is, its a pain installing everything seperately. 🙁

KOTOR 1 is good, KOTOR 2 was pretty lackluster. Corners were cut, bugs, choppy story, underdeveloped characters, etc. Stick with one.

Bioware is currently making a 'spiritual successor' to Baldur's Gate, under the name Dragon Age, which should be really good.

In the mean time, if you want good story in a SP RPG, you're pretty much left with NWN and its thousands of user created modules.

Well, once you're done w/ I, you really want to play II. Now that I'm done with II, I want to play III.

II wasnt as good as I also because it dealt with something somewhat unfamiliar to the Star Wars universe (i.e., there is something other than Light and Dark).

There's also the little known Lionheart, believe it was made by Bioware as well.

No, that was the last 'gas' of Black Isle before Interplay shut them down entirely. Lionheart also sucked hard. Don't even consider buying that steaming turd.

Thanks guys. I can't believe no one has made any games like them after seeing the success they had.. I don't think the KOTOR series is my type of game.. I can't stand star wars. 🙁

After having played trough kotor 2 I have to agree with the opinions posted here, the characters are less involved and the story ending really didnt do it for me, it was like ... "that's all?" (wont give any spoilers) still I had fun while playing it trough and I'll probably play it trough once more dark sided (gotta hear HK-47 😉) but that's about it.
