Any game suggestions?

Got this on STEAM and really enjoyed it. (Albeit short.) I'm trying to find more titles like this one, that just focuses on base defense.

When it comes to RTS, I've been strictly a AOE, SupCom, Starcraft etc. type player. I really loved just the defense aspect, upgrading, etc.

Can you guys throw out some titles that are similar to DG-Awakening?

Cheers.

I enjoyed it as well.. it seemed to have a glaring problem with enemies coming from separate areas.. and the inability to funnel them into one stream. I kind of lost interest when I noticed it on one of the more open boards. Great game style though..

Uh, that's sort of the point of some of the levels. "design decision you don't like" != "glaring problem".

Offhand, the only other tower defense game I can think of right this second is PopCap's Plants vs. Zombies.

Seriously? PvsZ (which I played and thoroughly enjoyed) and DG Awakening are the only games of this sort?

Mainstream tower defense games (and I mean ones that aren't free or made in flash for free to play) were never that popular. Plants vs Zombies and Defense Grid are two recent games that just happen to come out at the same time and were pretty solid.

There's Massive Encounter here which isn't really that new or that good as PvZ and DG in my opinion, but it's still pretty fun.

If you don't mind flash based games, then go here for all your Tower Defense Game needs. http://www.towerdefence.net/

When there is a clear path to follow and a stream breaks through your line.. that is an inconsistency that's a bit hard to get past.. yes.

No, there are thousands of games of this sort.
All of them are free. You must be the only person who missed the genre.
They're fun, but I wouldnt pay for any tower defense game unless it was really awesome. Even then I think 15 bucks is the max. Thats what I paid for Defense Grid on a weekend special.

they don't 'break though' unless you don't give them any other option. your goal on the later levels is to give them a clear path to the cores, but it has to be the most convoluted path possibly, or you will lose.
