Any Game Suggestions?

Now that I have a souped up 'puter, can anyone recommend some good games to obtain? I've never really kept up or beeing involved with games since I've never had a computer with a good graphics card.

I'm into Rayman 3, Perfect Dark type. I guess really visual, fun platform games. Adventure games are fun too, but not ones that are two excessively complicated.

I LOVED Shenmue and that type of thing too.

Any ideas? Many thanks!

I havent played many PC games recently either, but I did get my hands on Far Cry and it kicked ass.

Strategy games: Age of Empires 3 and Civilization 4

It seems that most of the modern games are either:

(1) of the Sim city paradigm
(2) follow on the role-playing, "walk here, "open box" paradigm
(3) hyper-complex military/monster themed FPS

Are there games that are nice blends of the above? I'd really love a adventure game that actually has action is isn't just clicking on "inspect box", "look under bed" but also requires you to run around and maybe fight with a person or to.

There was a game, I think it was called Black and White or something. That was neat.

Are there any good Platform games like Rayman or Super Mario World that are being made? Video games have become so "adult" and emphasized on realism/complexity.

Where are the games you just unwind on, after a long day's work? Not too much emotional investment, training, etc.?

yeah, i agree with that.
i used to love the old Sierra/Dynamix adventure games, like Gabriel Knight. awesome story and fun to play.

i haven't played a game in awhile where i just sat back and said "damn, that was fun! i had a good time!"

playing FPS games online tends to frustrate me because there's always people who are better than you or are cheating or are just plain assholes.

Hey, that looks PERFECT! Thanks! Surprised to get help from someone named schadenfreude!

I think the Playstation really shifted the paradigm of videogames from a nintendo-style of simple fun, to a very serious, adult type of thing.

Psychonauts was my first thought, as someone else already suggested.
Another game you might like is Beyond Good and Evil. I played it on the gamecube but I'm pretty sure it came out for pc.

Psychonauts is a great game and so is Beyond Good and Evil. I have both for PC and they are perfect games for platforming sort of style. Both are quite well done🙂
