Any Freeware Programs Like Ghost and Partiton Magic?

So are there Any Freeware Programs Like Ghost and Partiton Magic? I have my WinXP install on a different partition but it looks like I need more space. I kept an extra partiton free to install Linux or whatever but prolly won't use it now so I would like to combine them without formating. Either that or just move the current install to the bigger partition.

Cool, anyone know of an alternative to ghost?

I've been using Acronis True Image for a while now and I like it a lot more than others I've used. I know at one point they offered a free trial period but I don't know if they still do. It's worth checking out if you haven't already.

For WinXP Pro, there's Automated System Recovery.

(edit: and for WinServer2003 as well. I ASR'ed an image from an Intel/VIA/IDE system onto an AMD/nForce/SCSI system as a test. It worked, too 🙂 Yes, I had to install the mobo drivers afterwards though)

Try out Knoppix...

www.knoppix.com

It's basically a distribution of linux that boot's and runs entirely from a CD or DVD. It's jammed with programs and even if you don't know much about linux it's got a nice gui and with a little help you can partition your drive and create and image of it all without having to install it on your harddrive.

It's overall the best single tool I've used out there as a tech support guy.
