Any Free Online map site

Does anyone know of any free map site that will allow you to "customize" your route between two points? Google Maps and Map Quest doesn't always select the best route and they won't allow me to select which highway I want to use.

I don't know about the United States, but there is Mappy that is a pretty decent website.

MapQuest will not allow me to select a specific road or highway.
The "Shortest Time" and the "Shortest distance" both use the same highway which has a draw bridge. If that bridge goes up add 30+ minutes to the travel time.
There are alternate routes that by pass that delay, but I need a distance caculation.

I believe if you use Google Earth you can plot your course and it will give you approximate distance and time.
