Any free mandarin audio mp3s out there that teaches pinyin?

Looking to pick up mandarin ... I look through the different software available, mainly rosseta, fluenz, and pimsleur, but all the reviews are mixed.

I know the best way is prob. to immerse myself with people that speak mandarin daily but I think for now I want to start with something I can listen during my commute and get the very basics of pinyin down, then I can start with the memorized and conversing w/ people. Problem is, I can't find any :(

The best way is to get someone to instruct you who is a native speaker. It's a tonal language so it's hard for non-native speakers to understand. It helps to have someone speak and guide you through repeating the tones.
