Must be a fairly old laptop. I would test it with a game demo download like Doom 3 or HL2

Get a demo vid for a racing game like nfsu or one of the grand turismo games. Since the scenery moves in a relatively predictible manner, it makes it easier to notice things like ghosting and since the car is relatively stationary, you can still pick out artifacts.
