I'm wondering if anyone knows of a free DNs service which will basically just redirect any requests to a domain you own to your computer at home which has dynamic IP, using some heartbeat program to keep the IP address at you DNS service provider's records up to date.

I've been using DNS2Go so far and my current term expired so before I renew I'd like to find out what else is avaiabe

http://www.no-ip.com/ is a good one. Not sure if it automatically picks up changing ips or if you have to manually do it yourself. But over few years my calbe Ip has changed maybe once .

They do have a free option so dont worry about any prices you see on the homepage.

I guess I cannot get it for free then :(

Both of those providers have some kind of free service but you must use their domains. I already have a domain and just want direct requests to it redirected to my home computer. Such a service would be called "Custom DNS" by dyndns.org or the No-IP Plus service from no-ip.com
