any free apps to view autocad files?

I have some auto cad files I want to view but I can't open them w/ their free viewer

they are.DWG files.
also I have a .3ds file I can't open

any help is appreciated

Autodesk (Autocad makers) have a free viewer utility. You can get it here.

I'm not sure what will view a Max file. You can try Milkshade maybe.
