I see that ms has a free package, but it doesn't appear that linux will run on it.. shocker!

EDIT: I meant to post in Operating Systems.. I need to stay out of OT.

You can set up a virtual machine using Linux on both MS Virtual PC 2007 and VMWare server. Both are freely downloadable. I have SuSE running on both and in both cases did the install by pointing to the downloaded iso file so I didn't even have to waste a CD/DVD.

Great news, I didn't know any version of Vmware was free. Their website mentions trial a lot.

Thanks Linflas.

Linux will run on the free VMware... but you have to have a prebuilt VM built by someone with the full VMWare package.

Not true. I created one from scratch using VMWare Server. I even have Vista running that thing.

Edit:
The even have some preconfigured VMs for you to download at their site too.

We do all of ours from scratch all the time with the free version.

I was actually referring to VMware Player because VMware server supposedly does not support Windows XP as a Host OS.
