I can remember two things I liked about that episode and they both reside in the upper abdomen vicinity of that virtual opponent chick.
Almost nobody liked that episode right? Well I've got an idea, remove most of the scenes and fill the last half of the show with scully gettin down with the game character to save the day. Now what self-respecting man would not like my episode better?! Hmm this writing stuff ain't so hard.
Ugh. That episode was rediculously stupid in the extreme. Chris Carter must have watched the matrix too many times - oh well. And there's no way in hell the playing environment of that 'game' was even close to as good as Half Life's Black Mesa
This was just one half-step more advanced than the video-game movies of the '80's (e.g., "Joysticks" and the video-game segment in the bad-movie classic "Nightmares" with Emilio Estevez). The only decent thing about this episode (other than the aforementioned glands) was the appearance of the kewl Heckler & Koch G36.
