Mag-lites are pathetic compared to the newer more powerful lights. It's like how Macs are better than every PC in existence.

OMG I'm lolling at the pics in this thread.

To the OP - is a flashlight hobbyist a real thing? It's a metal rod with some lights at the end. You can get a really good one from most shops for like $50.

What?

Is a knife hobbyist a real thing? It's just a sharp piece of metal, right?

No, is there seriously a group of people who are enthusiastic about flashlights? I mean, really?

Yes Mike. 84,000 members (9,400 active) at CPF. Do you honestly think flashlights are just a metal stick with a light? Like jlee says, do you think knives are just metal sticks? Would you be surprised there are enthusiasts for amplifiers, headphones, speakers, televisions, cars, rockets, remote control planes/boats/cars/trucks?

We can continue blowing your mind tomorrow.

Seriously, there's knife enthusiasts too? Why? I can understand why a chef would be into knives, but not too sure about why anyone else would. It IS just a sharp piece of metal.

Ok, any doubt of troll status has now been removed.

At least different knives can have different functions. There is only one function of a flashlight. I've gotta side with Gayner here. It is bizarre that there are flashlight enthusiasts.
