Do you have this PSU?
If yes, is it quiet?
Thanks,
Navid

I don't think I really need that much power. At least not right now.
I thought if a power supply delivers much less than it is designed for, it should run cooler, therefore, quieter.

Only if it has a fan(s) that are linked to how hot it is.
If you really want quiet, try this. 😀

You are absolutely right. Only, if it has a fan that is controlled by temperature, like the ones on the PSU I asked about!
However, even if the fan RPM is not linked to temperature, as long as you can manually reduce the RPM, you are OK. As long as the low RPM is cool enough for the PSU. Which should be if the PSU delivers much less than it can.

2X512MB PC3200 @ 2X195.2MHz (DDR)
Seagate SATA 80GB 7200
WD 40GB 7200
NEC 3500A
BFG 6800OC
Fortron 350W PSU
I would like to overclock the 6800 too. But, I am not sure that the PSU I have is enough.
