any experiences with web-based travel providers?

Looking at a package (for a August honeymoon) that combines some time in Costa Rica and some in Peru from an online site called gotmyfare.com. My fiancee and I are normally pretty independent travellers and doing a trip on a guided basis will be new for us. Am a bit concerned about using a web-based travel agency though since reviews for these types of vendors tends to be very mixed. Anyone here used the services of one before (such as Gate 1 travel, go-today, etc)?
