Any experience with Verizon ATM service?

I do some work for a school that has a 768k U/D DSL connection with Verizon that has always been sketchy and they have completely outgrown. Verizon says they now offer ATM service with something like 7K down/768 up speeds for ~$100mo. They swear it is 10 times faster and more reliable then DSL.

Until I heard about that, I was encouraging them to get consumer-class RR service for $60 or so. I know uploads speeds are restrictive and there is no static IP, but they don't host any servers or do any remote backups, so that really isn't a concern.

The speeds of ATM are really tempting, but I am concerned about reliability. Any advice greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Wow, that was helpful.

To clarify then, I used a capital K instead of an M by mistake. I have never used the b or the B, because until now I never had to. I beg forgiveness of the abreviation police. However, I may offer in the spirit of your reply, if that was beyond you ability to interpret your critical thinking skills need serious help.

Second, the school runs out of a home and does qualify for residential RR service. The restrictions apply to how the residence is classified, not what happens there.

no need to be rude...

actually you should have been using it all along, you just chose not to. there is a BIG difference between MB and Mb.

he wasnt correcting you for the sake of correction...accurate information in your original post goes a long way in helping us help you 🙂

if you're weary of the reliability of Verizon's high speed business class ATM network, you shouldnt even consider a consumer class service...its 2 different worlds.
