A buddy of mine is looking at a duron barebones combo at mwave, Mwave Duron combosis the page, any experience with that case, and how about the PS? Also what would be the better mobo to get, the MSI or the Biostar?
thanks,
Daniel

I built six boxes back in August using the V500 and a Biostar P3 board... it's really not a bad case. Everything is relatively easy to get to, and it's well built. The PS is only 145W, but it should be OK for what you'd put in the case anyway...

I'd go with the MSI board over the Biostar... haven't had a problem with either, but MSI makes a damn good board...

Hmm, is 145 watts really ok for a duron 700, 7200 rpm hd, a cdrw and a v3? Also checking the page on bird combos here for about 300 with a tbird 750, a few different mobos and 300 watt ps, is it just or is that more than worth it?

145w (does AMD actually recommend this?) is really weak when you start adding devices like 7200rpm hard drives, cdrw's, and other things. I'd go with at least a 250w for peace of mind. Having a flaky system because of a weak power supply would really suck.

Especially if your buddy plans to overcock at all he will need a bigger power supply for some extra fans. A bigger case would accomodate more fans to allow higher overclocking. If he is not gonna overclock then just get the bigger P/S anyways.
