I am in process of purchasing a new desktop/lcd for my parents and i was looking through the dell outlet dimension desktop and lcd monitor and they had some really good deals.

Did you guys have any concern w/ ordering there scratch and dent products? are there really cosmetic damage to the system?

if you do not like the product can you easily return it? or they give you hassles?

anything in general you know about dell outlet desktop/monitors that you can share please!? thankyou!

I wouldn't recommend getting an LCD from Outlet. You are better off buying a new LCD either from Dell using coupon codes, etc., or purchasing one from NewEgg or ZipZoomFly.

In regards to S&D systems, it's a bit of a risk I guess, but I have picked up 4 S&D's, and haven't found more than a minor insignificant scratch, and in fact two of the 4 were actually brand spanking new. You do have a 14 day return period with Outlet systems.

Depending on what you are looking for, I would recommend two systems. The XPS 400, or if you prefer something a little better, a Precision 380 (Workstation that has 3 year standard warranty). Look late at night, well after midnight. Drop times (new inventory drops) have been at :30 and :40 after the hour, almost every hour of the day. The FIRST link InlineFour posted above is actually something I wrote, and there is some good info in there.
