The high pitched noise from the fan on my Gainward GeForce 3 Ti200 is starting to get to me. I'm thinking of replacing it with a crystal orb. Does anyone know if this is any quieter? Its rated as 26.4 dba.
 
i got one it is pretty quite definately can't hear it over case fans
not sure what the dba rating is but there website should say
 
I found the dba rating - 26.4 - I just don't know what that means. Is it any quieter than the stock fan? Is the vantec iceberg quieter? The only reason I want to buy a new hs/fan is to make it quieter.
 
I had a CORB on my GF3. Nice fan, but it is NOT quiet. I did a 7 volt mod to mine and took off the "TT" lid. It was quiet after that. Maybe just do a 7 volt mod to your stock fan.
 
If you want it quiet, you should mod it because the CO is somewhat noisy. Noise is a highly subjective thing, I find that my computer is noisy but some of my friends think it's really quiet...

Buy it, try it and mod it if it's necessary... that's my advice!
 
Thanks for the great link, but I don't want to slow down my fan. I've got the card running at 230/540 and I don't want any less cooling - just less noise!
 
The CORB even with a 7 volt mod cools well. My GF3 ran 230 core just fine with the CORB @ 7 Volts and some AS III.
