Any experience/views on the Cicso SMB 300 series switches.

Does anyone have any views/experience on the above series of switches.

These are much cheaper than the ESW-520/540 range. I appreciate they do not have CDP, but I'm not worried about that.

I'm mainly interested in reliability and stability. I will mainly be using the POE versions. The main (i.e. not uplink) ports will have voice traffic on a tagged VLAN and data on the native untagged VLAN.

The SFP slots may also be used for a fibre link. These could be used with multi mode fibre, or single mode fibre. The speed could be 100 Meg, or Gigabit.

Do these switches need to use the Cisco SFPs made for the SMB switches, or can another make be used reliably?

Thanks in advance

Rob
