ANy experiance with 4870+4850 CF

I can get a used 4870 for exchange with my 4850 and about $50.. from what i think this would be great but i am still not sure how stable the 4870+4850 CF!!

The shop also sells gigabyte 4870x2 which had a very very very odd model on its cover. I mean put some real models on there instead of rendered chicks!!!

Should be stable enough, but the cards will run at 4850 speeds. The only benefit of a 4870 in CF with a 4850 would be the ability to run games that don't support CF a little faster on a single GPU.

Not true, 4850 + 4870 = 4870+ a wee bit

hardware canucks mixed crossfire review probably not worth it for a VERY minor performance jump over running a pair of 4850's

I cant get another 4870 since in INDIA, 4850 is still quite predominant and used 4870's are not possible to come by. My plan is to buy a 4870 now and wait for 4870's price to fall a bit and buy another for a 4870 CF

Save that $50 for a proper upgrade when cards are released with noticably greater performance.

I stand corrected. Crysis shows about 1-2% gain (less than 1 FPS), and all other games run about 1 FPS out of 100-250 FPS better.:roll:
