Any Evo ROMs support 4G?

I just got an email from Sprint saying that Pittsburgh has 4G and I want to test it out on campus, but I'm pretty sure my current ROM (CM6) doesn't support 4G. I think I deleted the backup of the rooted stock rom I'd had so I'm looking for something I can pick up in ROM manager.

Pretty much all of them except CM do. Download FreshRom and enjoy 4G goodness. Sprint will have changed to LTE by the time I ever see 4G here.

Thanks... I knew I could just dl a rooted stock rom off the internet, but anything inside of ROM manager is so much easier. Clear's website says my place should be covered but campus looks like it might not be so lucky.

Curious, why is that? Is it because FreshRom and others are tweaked versions of the stock rom while CM is source built?

I use Fresh and am really happy with it. Supports 4G as it's based off of a stock OTA.

That's it. The others work of the stock rom which has all the drivers and such already there. CM is essentially custom written so they have to figure out how to make it work. The FM radio and HDMI are also BOA on CM. I don't live in a 4G area and have never thought about using HDMI or FM so their loss doesn't bother me. What CM gives you in exchange for that is more than worth it to me.

What exactly does CM give you in exchange on the Evo? I've found no discernible benefit from that ROM. It eats battery and is otherwise AOSP - nothing special.

I realize CM has been an improvement on phones that come with a crippled stock ROM, and that they've improved battery life on some others. The Evo isn't in either category, though. CM is basically if you insist on AOSP and can do without 4G.

It's really nothing special for the Evo.

I liked using bakedsnack or calkuins rom on the evo, those were the fastest for me and I know 4g works on them since I get it by me.

It's faster and doesn't have Sense. My area doesn't have and will not have 4G anytime in the forseeable future.

If your area doesn't have 4G and you don't like Sense, I guess CM is an option - but in my experience with it, it's not the rom to end all other roms. Don't get me wrong, its decent, but the hype isn't worth it. People were shitting themselves on XDA when nightlies for the Evo started coming out, nevermind the fact that it ate the battery. It still is pretty bad on battery life, and this phone needs anything it can get in that area.

I do have 4G in my area, and in many parts of my office, I somehow get better 4G signal than the often intermittent voice and 3G signal. So not having that is sort of a dealbreaker for me, but CM will get it eventually I'm sure. It's just a matter of HTC releasing the right source and then integrating it into the next release.

I happen to really like Fresh w/ Launcher Pro (but I also like Sense).

I found CM6 to be noticeably smoother than the stock, however I read HTC finally unlocked the frame-rate, so maybe that'll help a lot.

For the record, bakedsnack's Boot Animation literally made me LOL.

Unfortunately 4G is really weak at home, I'm going to see if I can get better results in different parts of the city though.
